Little Rock Coworking
Are you a consultant, freelancer, or telecommuter who works in a home office or out of coffee shops? Or is your business a start-up that needs more space as it grows? Or maybe you're a creative professional who craves more interaction with other creatives? Perhaps you live elsewhere but your job requires you travel through Central Arkansas and need a temporary desk on occasion?
Get on board with us as we bring coworking to Little Rock.
What is Coworking?
A widely quoted definition of coworking is:
Coworking is cafe-like community/collaboration space for developers, writers and independents.
Or, it's like this: start with a shared office and add cafe culture.
However, every coworking group and/or space is unique. Some start with the office space and build a community in and around it. Some start with a cooperative community and find or build a space to meet their needs.
Some coworking spaces are wide-open areas where a lot of collaboration is encouraged, some are more closed (and perhaps quieter). Some coworking groups don't have (or ever plan to have) their own space but meet at private homes, coffee shops, and public meeting rooms. It's all coworking.
Our favorite definition of coworking involves a pizza recipe. You start with a crust and add various sauces, cheeses, and/or toppings. Or maybe you start with French bread or an English muffin. It's all good.
What would you like?
As we attempt to build a coworking community in Little Rock, we know our approach can't be identical to what established coworking groups have done. Some larger cities have enough people interested in coworking that multiple groups have grown up, each catering to specialized interests or facilities (from specialized office equipment to onsite childcare). As we start out, we welcome anyone with any interest in cooperative office space or creative community interaction to let us know what you want.
"I'll have a black olive pizza, please . . . I mean, what now?"
We hope to establish regular meetings soon, possibly at a local meeting room or coffee shop (if you have a preference for where or when, please let us know asap). Until then, or if you can't make the meetings, email us and let us know what part of coworking interests you and how you would like to be involved.
